Salon closes after eight years in Locks Heath

A hair salon in the Locks Heath Shopping Village has suddenly closed after running into financial difficulties.

Pride Hair closed its doors to customers last Friday (October 11) after eight years trading in the centre.

Owner Lesley Haggerty is continuing in business renting a chair at House of Trinity in Bridge Road, Sarisbury Green, but four other employees at Pride have lost their jobs there.

Lesley said: “It’s as a result of the economic climate that we’ve ended up closing. I’m not giving up. At the moment House of Trinity has been kind enough to let me rent a chair and carry on working.

“We’re considering administration. We’re leaving it in the hands of our accountant.

“It’s one of those things that happen. We’re trying to turn a negative into a positive and carrying on.”

Ms Haggerty said previous Pride Hair customers would receive a discounted rate with her at the Sarisbury Green salon.
